Open marriage dating sites, and how to do it honestly

Updated October 12, 2026 · Match Parfait editorial team · How we rate

Short answer

For an open marriage, pick the platform by how open you plan to be. Feeld and OkCupid let partners show their relationship on their profiles, which suits couples who are out about it. Victoria Milan and Ashley Madison suit people who want discretion from the outside world, even when the partner at home knows and agrees.

01Open marriage is not an affair with paperwork

Consensual non-monogamy, or CNM, covers a lot of arrangements: open marriages, swinging, polyamory, “don't ask, don't tell,” and plenty of private agreements that have no name. What they share is consent. Your spouse knows, has a say, and has the same right to change their mind as you do.

That consent changes which platform makes sense. An affair needs secrecy from your partner. An open marriage usually needs secrecy only from your boss, your neighbors and your in-laws. Those are very different privacy problems, and the platforms are built for one or the other.

02Which platforms fit, and how they describe themselves

We stick to what each company says about itself. Features change, so check the current app before you sign up.

03Feeld and OkCupid: for couples who don't hide it

Feeld was designed with non-monogamy in mind. Its “Constellations” feature (formerly Paired Accounts) lets you link with up to five partners through an invitation link that expires after 72 hours. Linked partners appear on each other's profiles, but Feeld says your connections, chat history, profile details and photos aren't shared with them. Each partner needs their own premium membership if both want the paid features.

OkCupid took a different route. Back in January 2016, it rolled out a feature letting people listed as “seeing someone,” “married” or “in an open relationship” link accounts. At the time, the company said the share of its users who would consider dating someone already in an open relationship had risen from 34% to 42% over five years. Today, relationship status and type are part of the profile and searchable.

The upside of both: nobody's confused about your situation. The downside: a linked, visible profile on a mainstream app is easy for a coworker to stumble across.

04Victoria Milan and Ashley Madison: discretion first

Plenty of people in open marriages still want zero public footprint. That's where discreet platforms make sense, even though they were built for affairs.

Victoria Milan describes itself as “designed for married and attached” people, and its search covers married, attached and single members. Its privacy tools are the draw: you can blur or mask your photos, keep photos private until you grant a “Private Key,” and hide your online status. We didn't find wording on its site that specifically addresses open relationships, so say it plainly in your profile text. The people you match with deserve to know that your spouse is aware.

Ashley Madison's current Google Play listing, published by Ruby Life Inc., talks about exploring non-monogamy and polyamory. In February 2026 the company rebranded from “married dating” to “discreet dating” and said 57% of its new members are single. That's a company figure, but it suggests the audience is broader than it used to be.

On a discreet site, write “open marriage, my partner knows” in your profile. It filters out people looking for drama and attracts people who respect the arrangement.

05How to bring it up with your partner

If you haven't had this conversation yet, the platform is the last thing to worry about. A few things tend to help.

  • Pick a calm moment. Not after a fight, not after wine, not on an anniversary.
  • Talk about why you want it, not about a specific person you already have in mind.
  • Ask what they'd need to feel secure, and expect the answer to be “no” or “not yet.”
  • Agree on the basics before anyone signs up: what's allowed, what's off limits, sexual health and testing, who gets told what.
  • Decide how the profile will look together, including photos and wording.
  • Set a check-in date. Agreements that are never revisited tend to rot.

06Honesty is the safety feature

The French have a reputation for being relaxed about all this. The relaxed couples we know are not relaxed about honesty, though. They're strict about it. Discretion toward the world, transparency at home: that's the deal.

Be honest with the people you meet too. Don't present an open marriage as a lonely marriage to win sympathy, and don't present a secret affair as an open marriage to dodge guilt. Both lies tend to come out, usually at the worst moment.

If your partner doesn't know, then what you're doing is an affair, whatever the profile says. That's your call to make as an adult. Just don't call it something it isn't.

07Privacy rules for couples

Couples often forget that a joint arrangement doubles the exposure. Two profiles, two phones, two sets of photos that could be recognized. A few house rules help.

  • Agree on which photos are allowed. Faces only behind a private photo setting, or not at all.
  • Keep wedding rings, family pictures and your home's interior out of every shot.
  • Use first names or nicknames only until you've met someone and trust them.
  • Decide in advance what you'll say if you bump into a neighbor or colleague on the app.
  • Respect your partner's matches' privacy as carefully as your own. No screenshots to friends.

Questions

  • What is the most discreet site for an open marriage?

Our editorial pick for discretion is Victoria Milan, for its photo blur and masks, private photos and hidden online status. Say “open marriage, partner knows” in your profile so matches understand the arrangement.

  • Can couples share a profile on Feeld?

Not a single shared profile. Feeld's “Constellations” links individual profiles, up to five partners, while each person keeps their own chats and connections private.

  • Does Ashley Madison accept people in open relationships?

Yes. Its app listing talks about exploring non-monogamy and polyamory, and its 2026 rebrand moved it from “married dating” to “discreet dating.”

  • Does OkCupid allow married people?

Yes. OkCupid lets you set a relationship status and type, and since 2016 people who are married, seeing someone or in an open relationship have been able to link accounts. Check the current app, as the options change.

  • How do I link my partner on Feeld?

Your partner needs their own Feeld profile. You send an invitation link from your profile settings; Feeld says it expires after 72 hours. Once accepted, you appear on each other's profiles.

  • Should I tell my matches I'm married?

Yes. On any platform, saying up front that you're married and that your partner knows avoids misunderstandings and attracts people who are comfortable with it.

For an open marriage, pick the platform by how open you plan to be.
